The rise in the use of information and communication technologies, including social networks platforms, in society has stimulated research on how these new technologies are associated with everyday life in general and family life specifically. This chapter describes the impact of the adoption of the Internet in families with adolescents. The discussion rests on the concept of family boundaries and family cohesion which accords well with the diversification approach, capturing the nature of changes in the family system and peer relations. Following the conceptual consideration, the chapter reviews research findings on the implications of the Internet at home for parent-adolescent relationships. In the final part, it treats family adjustment, discussing the concept of family mediation and the different strategies that parents use to control family boundaries.
