ABSTRACT
In Chapter 5 we present information about minority-serving institutions, those postsecondary campuses such as historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), tribal colleges and universities (TCUs), Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs), or Asian American Native American and Pacific Islander-serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) that have a historical or current mission to serve students of color. In our focus on MSIs, we illustrate how these institutions offer unique and culturally responsive perspectives on student success that many other types of institutions might do well to adopt.
