ABSTRACT

There are a multitude of challenges that students may face in their path toward graduating from college, but there are also some ideas as to what might help facilitate students’ persistence through their degree programs. Exploring experiences and outcomes for students of color, this chapter investigates what has been done on the topic of persistence, both theoretically and empirically, to shed light on what needs to be done in the future to help students of color complete their degrees after they gain access to college.
