ABSTRACT

Network Analysis is a technique used for planning large or complex projects by rigorously programming and monitoring progress. It is based on the principles of sequencing tasks in a logical order, thus taking a systematic approach to the planning and scheduling of tasks and resources. Network Analysis is regularly used for the development of infrastructure projects, as well as technology development projects and the execution of implementation plans. It can also be used for procurement projects. There are two main forms of Network Analysis: critical path analysis and project evaluation and review technique (PERT). Network Analysis can be extended to include the necessary resources required for each activity so that the resources can be scheduled, monitored and managed effectively. PERT analysis can also help to determine task duration through estimation and statistical calculation, once the network has been established.
