ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book focuses on how to manage projects successfully using project change management (PCM). Using the PCM methodology is the correct starting point for all organizations except those that have a great deal of experience using ICM. Most experts have developed processes that support the PCM approach. There are many advantages to using this approach, as it develops customized PCM approaches that are often unique to the individual project. The transformation to an innovative organization rests right in the middle of where the key Innovative Change Management (ICM) forces overlap each other. Adding the need for a major cultural change from the information workforce to an innovative workforce is the fifth key ICM factor that needs to be considered and dealt with. The transformation from an information worker to an innovation worker requires a major change in organization's behavior patterns and culture.
