ABSTRACT

When all is said and done, the management team is held responsible for the organization's performance. How well the organization performs is directly reflected in their promotions, salaries, and longevity with the organization. If our management team is going to be held accountable for the improvement, then they must be involved in the implementation of any improvement process. This involvement must extend far beyond knowledge of its existence. They must become the leaders of the movement. Management needs to trust its employees and share the power that information about the organization provides to everyone. As managers, we need to be good listeners. We were born with two ears and only one mouth. This chapter believes this is a sign that we should listen twice as much as we talk. Before we can hope to bring about an attitude adjustment, we must first create a desire to change. This is where innovative change management can be a very effective tool.
