ABSTRACT

What do instances of architecture and sacrament “look like?” This chapter answers this question by proposing these foci: (1) ubiquity/uniqueness; (2) center; (3) horizontal sublime; (4) moral light; (5) gardens as narrated nature; (6) complicated authenticity; and (7) architecture in rhythm with history. It is important to note this is not another list of physical-visual attributes. Instead, these features are suggested as instances in which seamless tectonics occur to unite the object in front of me, the moral lineaments within me, and the vast orderliness of the cosmos around me. In all, the emphasis is on moral cultivation as a prerequisite before material distribution.
