ABSTRACT

This chapter provides each of the three levels of dynamics that can be created with the four tools in the studio – volume, EQ, panning, and effects. Each of the four tools volume, EQ, panning, and effects can be used to make a sound appear more present; however, when music professionals use all of them together, it will make the sound extremely present. Compression will make it more stable so that it seems even more present. By using all of the tools together to create combinations of dynamics, music professionals can create all the different styles of mixes in the world. Because the main thing that makes a mix full in the first place is the number of sounds and notes in the song, music professionals can help make the mix fuller by having the band play more parts.
