ABSTRACT

Having looked at the myths in Chapter 7, the text now turns to some very practical discussions about how technology is changing and has changed the way people access knowledge and learning. The chapter explores areas of leadership, looks at what the author calls ‘The Now of the Web’ that speaks to the immediacy that technology has bought to the way we can all live our lives and ends in asking some fundamental questions about why technology systems that are being built in schools are ignoring the trends in global technology to arguably put learners at a significant disadvantage when they seek to enter the world of work.
