ABSTRACT

Dimensions and notations are entered using the Annotation tools contained within the Annotate panel of the Ribbon. Prior to adding dimensions to their drafting sheet, users need to first define the dimension style that they wish to use when doing so. AutoCAD comes preinstalled with two dimension styles, Annotative and Standard. Standard dimensions allow users to specify the height, style and size of dimensions, keeping those dimensions the same size no matter what. Using Annotative dimensions will allow users to place dimensions into Model Space that are sized so that they appear the same height in Paper Space. The Primary Units tab in the Dimension Style Manager is where users will set the units that they will use for dimensioned objects. The Lines tab of the Dimension Style Manager allows users to define the line type and line weight of dimension lines. The text tab of the Dimension Style Manager defines the text style used within the dimension style.
