ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the process of drafting two-dimensional objects, such as polylines and circles. As users enter each of these commands, they will find that there are many options that are available within the commands. Keeping an eye on the Command Line will help them to begin learning the program. Selecting the Line command allows users to draw a series of line segments by selecting points within Model Space. When users enter dimensions into the Command Line for drawing objects, AutoCAD defaults to read those dimensions as units. A Crossing Selection, or a left crossing window, is a green selection window that will select all objects that the window intersects. A Window Selection, or a right crossing window, is a blue selection window that will select only objects that are completely enclosed within the window. A Lasso is a non-rectangular selection window that can be drawn in ameba-like shapes with user's cursor.
