ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how to use the Block Editor to create title blocks and reference lines in an AutoCAD file, and how to use attribute definitions within the Block Editor to allow the user to change information within them. It discusses how to enter text into AutoCAD. AutoCAD comes preinstalled with a standard text style. This text style can be modified and new text styles can be added using the Text Style dialog box. To enter a text box, users need to select the style of text they wish to use by pressing the appropriate button on the Ribbon or entering the command in the Command Line and pressing Enter. Sketching out a title block on a piece of scratch paper will assist users in creating a title block in AutoCAD. An attribute is a tag or label that associates specific information with specific instances of a block. Attribute definitions are created using the Attribute Definition dialog box.
