ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I discuss HOOD’s (habitus-oriented OD) main theoretical and practical contribution to the development of OD, which focuses on the role of habitus and social structure in the production of consultees’ thinking and behavior. By referring to the case studies presented in the book, I show how the development of consultees’ reflexivity to habitus and social structure situates HOOD between organizations and society so as to consider equally moral (human) and effective (pragmatic) aspects of change and development. I conclude the chapter by indicating the skills required to operate in accordance with HOOD.
