ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explores importance of viewing change as a nonlinear dynamic process and examines the value of a processual approach to studying processes of change in organizations. It demonstrates the value of a processual perspective in making sense of organizational change. The book aims to present equal treatment to all employee perspectives and is critical of studies that focus too heavily on senior management. It provides a conceptual and methodological frame for researching the dynamic non-linear processes of change. The book outlines main methods and research practices for doing longitudinal processual research in organizations. It discusses processual framework for explaining processes of organizational change in the uptake of new organizational arrangements that underscores the value and importance of a process perspective. The book provides historical overview of early contextual concerns and a critical appraisal of concepts and debates in process organization studies.
