ABSTRACT

Companies with strong cultures of integrity have a number of things in common. They all put ethical values at the heart of corporate culture and make efforts to stay attuned to the changing universe of risks and issues impacting their business. Ethical decision-making boils down to individual choices. To create a culture that goes the distance, it's important that everyone is pulling in the same direction with officer’s company values as their 'North Star'. Character is also very important. If somebody's values are completely at odds with what officers organisation stands for, creating a culture of integrity is going to be a bumpy ride. A powerful way to test officer’s organisational culture is through third party certification such as the Investing in Integrity Charter Mark and rankings like Ethisphere's World's Most Ethical Companies. A good way to keep officer’s culture strong over the long term is to join a network of organisations that share their commitment.
