ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book introduces a storytelling model called the Triple-Storyline model of storytelling sustainability that explores the storytelling elements of person, people and place. The most influential sustainability professionals and change agents are those who can go beyond metrics and tap into something deeper, more essential, through story. To become a better storyteller, and influence change, sustainability strategist must dive in and do it, telling and listening to more stories at every level. The path of the storyteller can be a curious and ever-rewarding rabbit hole to fall into. The book discusses why the ancient human practice of storytelling is relevant today, why there's a call to rekindle one's storytelling instinct, and how it relates to why people are called to become change agents and do sustainability work.
