ABSTRACT

A website is a company's face to the world, and more than ever in the past, the first point of contact with the company. The small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) website is the best platform a small business can use to display its social mission and corporate responsibility profile. A website is available, flexible, accessible and useful. Social media are among the most powerful communications tools that a small business can use, free of charge, to enhance awareness, market presence and build a network. If people like social media and web platforms, they can enhance their reporting and the delivery of small and medium-sized enterprise sustainability messages with short movies which showcase their business, people and performance. As an SME owner, blogger and heavy user of social media, the author can unequivocally confirm that author's business has not only grown, it has survived, because of social media.
