ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the business advantages of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) reporting and explores some SME business leaders who confirm that transparency is better business. Banarra Pty Ltd is an active contributor to the sustainability landscape, both in Australia and globally, through a range of consultancy activities offering specialised support to organisations in the business, government and not-for-profit sectors looking to develop or enhance their sustainability approach, performance and accountability. Unequivocally, SME reporting was confirmed to bring business benefits in different ways and with regards to different stakeholder groups. Relationship with Puma is crucial and benefits from complete transparency about business practices and production programming. Puma became a high priority account for Impahla and we appreciated their leadership in sustainability practices. SME reporters also have made use of known and leading practice frameworks – the UN Global Compact Ten Principles or the Global Reporting Initiative Reporting Framework.
