ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book aims to serve as a guide for investors at all stages of the social impact creation journey. Creating social impacts is a process that begins well before investments are made. Investors need to inventory their interests, resources, values, and beliefs before they begin investing. Consider how deeply investors want to be involved—whether investors' will work directly in a social purpose organization, serve as a board member or advisor, or contribute in another capacity. Identify and understand investors’ organization's impacts. Decide what kind of measurement approach will best suit investor's needs: trained judgment, qualitative research, quantitative research, and/or monetization. Decide which impacts are most critical to driving investors’ decisions and measuring investors’ success. Evaluate the maturity of investor's social impact measurement system. Consider changes investors could make to move upward toward developing strategy and driving transformational change.
