ABSTRACT

The students of Oriental College looked just like those in any other college campus. It was summer. In blue jeans, t-shirts and sandals, they were scattered around the courtyard reading, eating and gossiping. Midas Auditorium was at the end of a long hallway, past the courtyard on the right where the Venus de Milo statue stood in a small pond teeming with tropical fish. The sun, source of boundless energy, blazed over the rooftop, casually ignorant of its relevance to what was happening below.
