ABSTRACT

This chapter shows why meaningful work needs to be at the foundation of the responsibility revolution. It focuses on how working with the Holistic Development Model integrates the need for meaningful work with responsible and sustainable organisational practices. The chapter explores how the Holistic Development Model supports a sustainable alliance between employee commitment and purpose beyond profit. It describes how Holistic Development Model allows the people to experience inner order and integrity. The chapter discusses how they, at a point when they were quite literally shaken to the core of their being, brought each of the dimensions of the model to their actions and sense-making. The new organisational responsibilities of the organisation provide a unique opportunity to create integrated internal and external systems that are fully integrated and build integrity into every aspect of organising. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book.
