ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes how much to budget in each area and issues to look out for. The subsidiary needs a budget for Corporate Giving and other local projects, depending on the market. For flagship multinational programs, the budget depends on the number of countries, but managers are likely to spend several million euros or dollars per year. Evaluation is vital that any project managers undertake has a budget to measure and evaluate what it is doing for both the community and the company. If company is a sports business, managers would expect to focus on more sports-related activity with a community impact and have a strong sponsorship connection, whereas a pharmaceutical business would probably focus more on strategic Community Involvement and Corporate Giving but a lot less on sponsorships. Head office's role is to set the strategy and framework that Community Involvement needs to operate within.
