ABSTRACT

The rapid evolution of the infrastructure associated with corporate responsibility represents a process of significant social and institutional change, although necessarily the end result of these changes is still in flux. Indeed, it is a social movement, and it is one that has been created in no smallmeasure by thework of the difference makers. As used here, the terms corporate responsibility and corporate citizenshipmean the impacts that a company’s strategies and operating practices have on society, its stakeholders, and the natural environment, and are distinguished from corporate social responsibility, which encompasses those activities that companies undertake to directly benefit society.18
