ABSTRACT

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has developed over 13,000 standards, working with standard-setting bodies in 145 countries. The ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 series are among the most well-known of the ISO standards. The ISO standards can also be used internally, without external auditors. Environmental management systems ISO Auditors Certification Standard Overview the gold medal winner among environmental management systems: liked by the market, internationally available and recognised, not too difficult to achieve and it satisfies the users. The costs associated with implementing ISO 14001 can be significant. However, these costs can be seen as an investment, in that most companies find that such investments lead to business benefits. ISO 14001 is also becoming more compatible with the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme of the European Union. Personnel performing the tasks which can cause significant environmental impacts shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training and/or experience.
