British sociologist Anthony Giddens defines 'structure' as the 'rules and resources, recursively implicated in the reproduction of social systems: structure is not just Mthere•,
determining social life. and those who believe there is no such thing as society-in the sense of systems and structures-but just individual agents pursuing their own choices. In Giddens's perspective, structure is condition and outcome of action, as structure is (re)produced by actors during their agency.
