ABSTRACT

The nervous system regulates the activities of reader’s body and mind. A variety of techniques can be used to stabilize reader’s nervous system. The overarching goal of all of the techniques is simple: become attentive to readers internal processes, including physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts. Tracking means noticing the physical sensations in reader’s body. The sensations might be felt in reader’s skin, or they might be experienced in their muscles or internal organs. Body-based technique developed by Elaine Miller-Karas and Laurie Leitch that helps stabilize the nervous system is called grounding. Helpful technique calls the Reset Button combines body-based and breath-based methods to stabilize reader's nervous system. The purpose of the Reset Button is to take a brief time out, turn inward, and observe all that is happening within readers at the present moment.
