ABSTRACT

Nestlé is a consumer-oriented food and nutrition company with headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland. It is the largest food company in the world by revenue. Nestlé was founded in 1905 by the merger of Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, established in 1866, and Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé, founded in 1867. The company grew significantly during the first half of the last century, eventually expanding its offerings beyond its early condensed milk and infant formula products to include coffee, tea, bottled water, breakfast cereals, confectionery, dairy products, ice cream, pet foods and snacks. Today, Nestlé operates about 450 factories in 86 countries, and employs around 328,000 people. Its revenue in 2014 was US$93.6 billion.
