ABSTRACT
This chapter talks about Sustainability-related applications by MBA discipline. As with any career search, it is critically important to have a clear focus in our sustainability job search. The first step in thinking about our career options is to identify which functional discipline most interests us, and then determine how sustainability might apply. MBA jobs related to sustainability cross all industries, job functions, and organizational types. Often sustainability is not a separate job functional area — like finance, marketing, or operations management — but rather a "lens" through which we can look at a company and our role within it. Many MBA students are career changers, so it is not necessarily expected that our pre-MBA work experience will match our post-MBA aspirations. However, if changing careers, it is important that we fill any functional gaps on our resume while in school.
