ABSTRACT

Opportunity in the United States has meant being able to obtain a good education and subsequently find a decent job with a small or large business or perhaps start a business, but in contemporary times, roadblocks and obstacles to this opportunity have been set up, and the road of opportunity has become impeded. The organization structure worked well for people of the age group and created many relatively high-paying white-collar jobs in various professions. A society can follow to ease the transition from one technology to the next—policies to encourage job creation and capital formation—is straightforward. Job creation—or, at least, "decent" job creation—is a broken promise for many. Technological change is sweeping not only the United States but the rest of the world and handicaps those without the ability and skills to participate in production and utilization of new technology.
