ABSTRACT
Locking mankind into temporality is just another unprovable mythological symbol in which neither physics nor the other pure phenomena of nature can find a way of expressing the ethos of mankind. The transference of the multiplicity in its apprehension out of the whole seems to us to indicate the hour of birth of a new sociology, cleansed of metaphysics and mythology. Mythology purporting to be science is as untenable a notion as metaphysics. Romanticism and utopia moved soon after 1789 into the space from which metaphysics and mythology had been dislodged. Utopia contributed a lot to the falsification of sociology. Its bell tolled at the same hour as for Romanticism. These two great powers of the intermediate realm—romanticism and utopia—are both forces of spiritual arbitrariness, like mythology and metaphysics.
