ABSTRACT
Labor and its progressive allies were so successful in the primaries that an immediate effect was produced on the Congress already in session—and, of course, that effect was still more marked after the election. The strength of labor's feeling about this law cannot be overstated. The American Federation of Labor won a remarkable victory during the past year. It has brought to a successful culmination the political campaign inaugurated in 1906. The purpose of that campaign was to establish industrial freedom for the working people that they might have the right to organize and the right to activities necessary to make organization effective in human welfare. American Federation of Labor indicate that through its application the workers of America have secured a much larger measure of fundamental legislation establishing their rights, safeguarding their interests, protecting their welfare, and opening the doors of opportunity, than have been secured by the workers of other country.
