ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the managerial ideologies within the Russian orbit, the problems have been dealing with will appear in a new light. A central tenet of Marxism is the edict that a labor movement will become the organized, political arm of the working class. While Marx differentiated between the leaders and the masses primarily on intellectual grounds, Lenin provided an organizational rationale. In modern capitalist economies the firm is the governing organization exercising control over production and distribution. The management of labor within the firm is not subject to other outside controls. The manager of an enterprise has the official responsibility to assign each worker to that wage group to which his qualifications entitle him. The changing consciousness of the workers, the emergence of a new ideological relationship to work itself, indeed to the machine, provides us with one of the most decisive opportunities for an unexpectedly quick development of the industry, the technology, and the economy as a whole.
