ABSTRACT
The Scandinavian countries are generally believed by the 'progressive' to be the most advanced countries in terms of sexual and other forms of personal freedom. Pornographic magazines and eight and sixteen millimetre films are still selling well in Denmark and a new form of prostitution has grown up. There has indeed been a drop in less serious crimes such as exhibitionism, but rape and sadistic offences continue on the same scale. From the point of view of the enlightened liberal such things apparently represent a new 'freedom', and it is a 'mature' society which can tolerate them. Some of the more extreme activities of sexual emancipation are to me no 'breakthrough' into 'liberation', but rather seem to belong to such extreme dehumanization that we can only speak of an incipient fascism. Christian and post-Christian and Communist culture is a eunuch; pornography is his severed balls; thermonuclear weapons are his staff of office.
