ABSTRACT

Over the past twelve years, I have taught three different versions of a planning ethics class at five different times. During this period, my thoughts about how to teach such an uncommon class continued to evolve, change, and be refined. In this chapter, I reflect on these experiences by describing, assessing, and occasionally critiquing what I did in the classroom, devoting most attention to the most recent version of the course. After discussing the several courses, I present some of the key lessons I learned from my teaching experiences that may be of interest to others contemplating offering such a course. I conclude by speculating about the likelihood that more planning ethics teaching will occur in the future in planning schools.
