ABSTRACT
We have surveyed an assortment of findings from a number of studies. Now we need an overview that reveals the coherence among results, explains what leads to what, and prepares the way for further investigation. To meet these needs, this chapter first presents a set of basic assumptions and the outcomes of research related to each, then a more integrated summary is offered that discusses the effects of major conditions.
