ABSTRACT

Ionce explained my theory of humor to a ladies’ afternoon society in Fort Worth, Texas, and when I finished the lecture, which seemed to me a very successful and indeed quite a delightful one, a stern and superior young woman with a highly intellectual light in her glasses came up and announced that she would be kind enough to drive me down to my train—which she did, and was further kind enough to say when we shook hands at the station: “Now remember, we want you to come back to Fort Worth again some day just the same!”
