ABSTRACT
My favorite Nixon has always been Julie Eisenhower. She is like her father without a dark side—that is, she is loyal, alert, considerate, virtuous, intelligent, and sensibly impulsive. That may sound like a version of the Girl Scout pledge, but most people who watched her speak up for her father in the worst of times would agree that Julie is not only all that, but is pluckier than any member of her family, including her father, in opening up to people.
