ABSTRACT
In their pursuit of profits, some private employment agencies have engaged in activities deemed abusive by the "moral crusaders" of the day (e.g., journalists, judges, legislators and a variety of social reformers). 1 The history of private employment agencies in this country and abroad has been characterized by charges of business abuses. This chapter identifies and describes the types of abuses typically attributed to private employment agencies.
