ABSTRACT

All professional-client, salesman-customer relations involve mutual dependency; each party is more or less dependent upon the other to satisfy a specific need. 1 In the case of the applicant-private employment agent relationship, the basis of dependency for the applicant upon the agent is getting an acceptable job. In turn, the agent depends upon the applicant getting a job through him in order to collect a fee. The applicant and the agent, in this sense, are mutually dependent. Mutual dependency is the most critical factor determining the nature of the interaction between applicant and agent.
