ABSTRACT

At the present state of the art, there are several theoretical models, of which some have been more extensively tested than others, trying to explain the phenomenon of power and its political manifestations in social life. Most of these theories represent a variety of perspectives about the phenomena of power and politics. But despite the intellectual differences among scholars dealing with this subject, we now have several theoretical explanations, albeit partial ones, for the ways in which social actors amass power and use it for their politi cal purposes. Moreover, these theoretical models allow us to predict, to some level of confidence, the chances of success of political measures that are ap plied in different situations. Therefore, we should first get to know the major theories of power and pay attention to their advantages and disadvantages. With the help of these theories we would better understand the political dynam ics of organizations.
