ABSTRACT

Organizations function on the basis of rules and procedures that regulate in a clear and mandatory fashion the behavior of participants. These rules deter mine the mutual relationships between members and their associates, suppli ers, and clients both inside and outside the organization. The greater part of such regulated behavior is generally conducted routinely. However, once new conditions creating conflict and encouraging competition among the different stakeholders disrupt the current state of affairs, then the emergence of organizational politics is likely to take place. Such organiza tional changes give impetus to power struggles and political games.
