ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on how to advance a social justice perspective on the water and Food Security, and Nutrition (FSN) debate through strengthening human rights and global frameworks around water and food security. It deals with a discussion of the global water governance regime, including the Sustainable Development Goals and their commitment to universal access to water and food. The chapter demonstrates how land and food governance are not adequately integrated into major global initiatives around water. Counter-balancing the private sector discourse, water has been a key focus of social movements around the world. When dealing with the issue of water for FSN, it is important to recognize that water resources often transcend national boundaries, making their management and use a function of transnational agreements and relationships. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book.
