ABSTRACT
The literary works discussed in this book are filled with the humor, drama, and pathos of human lives and demonstrate that moral issues are an integral part of living in this world. For many people, the choices that are made in their lives are based on religious convictions, either consciously or intuitively. In trying to understand the motives and actions of characters in novels as well as persons in real life, an exploration of their religious belief s is a helpful and valid endeavor. Readers’ reactions to these works will be highly influenced by their own religious outlook.
