ABSTRACT

A problem-solving bulletin board can consist of (a) a problem (The Problem); (b) some tips on understanding the problem or developing a solution, such as “Look for a pattern” (Will this help?); and (c) a place for individuals or groups to display their solution attempts (What we have tried) (Jacobson, Lester, & Stengel, 1980). A display of different solutions can prompt debate, discussion, and further inquiry.
