ABSTRACT

This final chapter examines the three sources of gifts, or donor publics. Addressed in reverse order, the bulk of the chapter is devoted to foundation and corporate donors because individuals, who provide 86% of all gift dollars, rightfully have been the focus of attention until this point in the book. The central thrust of chapter 15 concerns commonalities among the three donor publics, although definitional and operational differences are explained. The issues of interdependence and autonomy are revisited in relation to each gift source.
