ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the way to process the SCT data in an easy and accurate manner. It also provides a few tips on how to use a computer spreadsheet to accomplish the task. The overall process of rating a protocol is clear: rating each item first (chapter 4 and Appendix A in Hy & Loevinger, 1996), then deriving total protocol ratings (TPRs; chapter 5 and Appendix B, Hy & Loevinger, 1996). There are, however, other steps to prepare for both the item rating and the TPR.
