ABSTRACT

Chapters 3 and 4 focus on developing a detailed understanding of the health and

behavioral problems being addressed and the populations that are affected. Now we turn

our attention to putting that information to work in building a tailored health

communication program. This step in the planning process, developing a program

framework, involvesthinking creatively about characteristics of the population and the

nature of the health issues, identifying appropriate communication strategies to

effectively address each, and translating these strategies into specific program activities.
