ABSTRACT

Students tend to learn when they are interested and involved, see purpose in learning, and have some control over it. One way of approaching the challenge of improving student learning would be to consider students as prosumers: education consumers who also produce learning. This refers to involvement in the roles of help-giving (producing) and help-receiving (consuming) by students. Of course, students cannot do it alone; teachers and other school staff are crucial in facilitating this process of converting children from passive receivers into producers of learning.
