ABSTRACT

Effective leadership is not limited to heads of organizations or to one best way. The authors found a head tour manager, Tina, who exemplified an effective leader. Like the best of leaders with such programmed responsibilities, she was strong in both Initiation and consideration. Pseudo-transformational leaders do much of the same things as do transformational leaders. However, they are like the Pied Piper of Hamlin and lead their groups for the leaders' own personal satisfaction. Tina set a high standard of on-time departures by showing her continuing caring and concern for each and every member of the group. She personally took charge and arranged for quick medical attention and assistance, somehow managing to keep everything running smoothly and on schedule for the rest of the group. She gave useful background information on what was going to be available at different locations to handle the variety of needs that would arise during each day among the group.
