ABSTRACT

How teachers teach is determined by a multitude of factors. Research indicates that many teachers teach as they were taught in high school. Occasionally they may try to teach as their education professors taught them to teach. Sometimes they emulate the methods employed by their cooperating teacher during student teaching. Most often, of course, it is a combination of these influences, and one’s personal vision of who he or she is as a teacher that molds the methodology used. The method of choice is also highly influenced by the personality of the teacher and by the context in which the teaching occurs.
